How to Book Movers in Central London Online: A Step-by-Step Guide

A guided walk through our six-step online booking: what each screen asks, why it asks it, and what you get at the end.

Published 14 October 2026 · Updated 14 October 2026

Have both addresses and a rough date ready. The whole booking takes about five minutes.

Booking a removal company in Central London should take minutes, not a long chain of calls. Our online booking page at alphamovers.co.uk/book/ asks you the same questions an office team would ask on the phone, in the order that makes the price accurate.

This guide goes through each of the six steps. For every step you will see what the screen asks, why we ask it, and what to do if you are not sure of the answer. By the end you will know exactly how to book, what you get at the end, and what happens next.

Key takeaways

  • Booking takes six steps, and you can go back at any step. Your running price updates as you go.
  • The email code signs you in once. On the same device you stay signed in for 30 days.
  • Your booking reference is in the form AM-###### and appears on the confirmation screen and in every email.
  • You pay nothing when you book. Payment is by bank transfer after the job is completed and you have confirmed it.
  • Access details, the floor and parking are the three answers that change the price most in Central London. Take care with them.

Before you start: the four things to have ready

You do not need the exact price or the exact time before you begin. The form asks for the details that decide how long a Central London job takes, so it helps to have these four things ready.

  • Both addresses with postcodes. In Central London a postcode tells us a lot about parking and loading restrictions.
  • The floor at each address, and whether there is a lift.
  • A rough size: studio, one bed, two bed, three bed, or an office with the number of desks.
  • One preferred date and a backup date.

If you have already used the moving cost calculator, the booking page reads your van and hours from it, so you will see them filled in. You can change them at any time.

Why these four things matter

Access is the biggest cost driver in Central London. A flat on the fourth floor with no lift takes far longer than the same flat at ground level. The postcode tells us where the van will stop, and the date tells us whether a crew is free. Give us these four details and the price you see is much closer to the price you pay.

Step 1: Sign in with your email

Type your email address and press Continue. We send a six-digit code to that address. Open the email, copy the code and type it into the box.

Why we ask: the code proves the email is yours. It also lets you find the booking later on My bookings. If you use the same device again within 30 days, you are not asked for a new code.

If the code does not arrive

Wait a minute, then check your spam or junk folder. The code is sent from our booking address. If you typed the wrong email, go back and correct it, because the code goes only to the address you entered.

Step 2: Choose your service

Pick the job that matches what you need: a house move, a flat move, an office move, or a single item. Each card shows a starting price, so you can compare before you go further. A card tagged “Most booked” is the one our Central London customers choose most often.

Choosing a service does not commit you to anything. You can change it at any point, and your running price changes with it.

Step 3: Tell us about the property

This is the step that matters most for accuracy. You give the size of the property, the floor at each address, whether there is a lift, and where the van can park.

Honest answers here mean the price is right the first time. If your street is a controlled parking zone, read our parking suspension guide before you book. If you are not sure about parking, say what you know. The office confirms access when it reviews the booking.

How each answer changes the time a job takes
Answer you giveWhat it means for the jobEffect on time
Ground floor, lift availableStraight in and outLowest
Upper floor with a liftShort wait for the lift, one trip per loadLow
Upper floor, no liftEvery item carried up or down the stairsHighest
Van parks outside the doorShort carryLowest
Van parks a street awayLonger carry on every tripHigher

Step 4: Choose a date and time

The form selects the next day we can take a booking, and the first open time slot on that day, so you can move on quickly. You can change either one.

Choose how long you think the job will take. Central London jobs are planned around our Central London service area. The quick-pick chips set a block of two to six hours, and the price on each van card updates to match. Our minimum is two hours, so a short job still falls into the two-hour block.

Step 5: Enter the two addresses

Enter the pick-up address and the drop-off address. Type the postcode first. The town fills in from the postcode, so you only add the street and building.

We ask for both because the route between them decides the travel time. In Central London that can change a job by more than an hour, especially at peak traffic.

Step 6: Review and confirm

The review step opens with a green total card. That is the starting price for the van and hours you chose. Read it first.

Below the total you see the summary, then the details form. Add your name and mobile number, because we use it to call you about access or timing. Press Confirm.

Once you confirm, your reference appears in the form AM-######. Copy it now. The same reference is in the email we send you.

What happens after you book

Your booking shows as “Request received”. That means it is in our system and the office has not yet confirmed it. The office checks access, parking and crew availability for your slot, and calls you if anything needs a question answered. Before you book, read what to have ready before you call.

You can follow the booking at My bookings (alphamovers.co.uk/my-bookings/). Sign in with the same email and code. From there you can copy your reference or request a change.

If you get stuck

If a step does not work, call 07448 849354 or email info@alphamovers.co.uk. Say which step you were on and give us your postcodes. Our office is open 8am to 10pm, seven days a week, and our team can complete the booking with you on the phone.
